Wedding Reception Flowers and Decorating Accents

By Rose Smith Once the bridal bouquet and ceremony flowers are chosen, it’s time to focus on what type of wedding reception flowers you may use. You’ll need to look at food tables, guest tables, the head table, as well as decorating accents throughout the room. However, you don’t need to use only flowers. There are a wide variety of choices of greenery that can also be put to good use. First, you must understand where larger flower arrangements are appropriate… and where they are not. The more elaborate floral arrangements can be used on buffet tables, cake tables, on stands near the entrance and staircases, and close to the band or DJ. These types of arrangements, however, should not be used on guest tables or the head table as they are too large and will block the view of the guests. Table centerpieces created from flowers should be kept low and small. Make sure they compliment the overall color scheme and theme of the wedding. Nor do all the table centerpieces have to be identical. A unique and interesting idea would be to use a variation in the types of flowers, yet with the same color scheme. Small bud vases are best used on guest tables. A great combination wedding favor and table centerpiece idea would be to cluster small vases with a single flower in each. After the wedding, the guests can take home one of the bud vases as a wedding favor. If you can not afford to use many large floral arrangements, choose 2 or 3 for the buffet tables or other key area and decorate the rest of the room using balloon bouquets, tree branches with twinkling lights or rented palm and/or ficus trees. Edible bouquets are also very popular for table centerpieces. Spun sugar sculptures, fruit baskets and miniature tiered wedding cakes also serve a dual purpose as a table decoration and wedding favors… or as dessert at the end of the meal. Here are a few more wedding flower bouquet ideas you may want to consider: Wedding wishes cookie bouquets Milk chocolate long Stem roses candy bouquets Twinkle pop/lollipop bouquets As you can see, you can incorporate many “floral” bouquet ideas into your wedding scheme without breaking the bank. Large floral arrangements are beautiful to look at, but they can also be very expensive. Consider some of the alternatives to help save money, yet still create unique flower arrangements that will delight your guests. Working with an Intuitive Counselor: Opening the Door to Yourself

By Jaelin K. Reece Oh, Ive had a psychic reading before. They read some cards and wanted to know when my birthday was and then told me Id meet a man in the next 6 months, but I never did. Ive heard this from clients before. The difference is that after working with an Intuitive Counselor, they see that intuition, psychic ability and energy awareness is for so much more. An Intuitive Counselor can open you to the things that are happening in your life right in the present moment, and then uncover core issues. A good intuitive counselor goes right into that core and assists you in creating transformation from within, to ripple outward, affecting all the smaller symptoms. This reverberation creates healing on all levels simultaneously. We are all multidimensional beings functioning emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually and energetically all the time. We dont live in just one aspect, so how can our life be based on just one action or one piece of psychic forecasting? Intuitive counseling is a process of making simple changes and small course adjustments in the way you perceive yourself and your role in this life. For example, if you perceive yourself as a victim who allows yourself to be controlled and manipulated all in the guise that you are the people-pleaser, then you will attract people to you in your life that will reflect that belief and meet that need within you (i.e. controller, manipulator, taker, etc). If on the other hand, you perceive yourself as a self-empowered person who really knows their wants, desires and role here, then you will attract people to you that will support that vision. How does the victim become the self-empowered one? The change happens by taking steps to perceive themselves in a different light. It involves awareness and focus on the self. Working with an Intuitive Counselor, you receive the tools (exercises, awareness, etc) and the ongoing support while you make the changes within. Simply going for a psychic reading you may receive helpful information at the time, but without the tools, the support and the guidance to make a difference in your life circumstances. Many people looking for Intuitive Counseling are searching for themselves. They are looking for answers to questions they dont even know how to ask. Mostly they know they want their life to be different, they want to feel better- they want to be happy. Happiness doesnt come from taking a pill, drinking a potion or reading the cards. Its all a matter of using the information gained to take the actions to make actual changes in your life. Sitting back and waiting for the Universe to hand a better life to you on a silver platter may not be your best answer. The Universe helps those who help themselves. Action is required on your part. If you truly want something good, you work to get it. In the case of happiness, it may mean letting go of old patterns and emotions youve been carrying around that no longer serve you. It may mean opening yourself to receive new, good things into your life. It may also mean changing how you respond to others and the way they treat you. Ultimately, it is about standing up inside yourself and saying, I really want to feel better about myself and about my life. Working with an Intuitive Counselor means making a commitment to yourself and to your future self. Who do you want to be 5 years from now? If you want life to remain the same, so be it. But, if you would like to make a difference and create change, consider Intuitive Counseling. Youd be working with someone who can feel where you are and help you see your way through to the outcome you choose. Its a powerful and fulfilling process that provides you with the support and guidance needed to make deep and lasting changes. 2005 Jaelin K. Reece Jaelin K. Changing Patterns in Healthy Living from Fabricated to Organic Fertilizing

By Martin Lukac Homeowners often fail to realize that harmful chemicals are a great part in what is causing increasing illnesses, such as flues, allergies, etc. Most homeowners will plant gardens, landscapes, etc and add a small garden to their home. They may use fabricated fertilizers, which is responsible for helping the plants grow. However, what they fail to realize is these chemicals are hazardous to any life. That means that you are causing more harm to your plant life, your life and to your pets or children’s life. You want to change this pattern to live healthier. Homeowners struggle through the seasons to keep their lawn, gardens, and landscapes free of pest. Often they dread spraying harsh fertilizers on their lawn, fearing that it will cause harm to their children or pets. To avoid this many homeowners are considering the organic fertilizers. Organic fertilizers are available today to send the pest packing and prevent accidental poisons of pets and children. Now you and your family can enjoy the paradise environment you worked hard to accomplish. Organic fertilizers are natural and work to protect and improve ground soil. Plants vigor and growth is improved and your plants health increases. This is a great healthy way of living. Plants are like people, they need nutrition to strengthen their growth. Most plants suffer, since many people tend to rely on fabricated fertilizers to feed plants. Too many people fail to read common directions in plants care, which differs from each plant. The harmful chemicals can cause more harm than good and they do not always get rid of the unwanted rodents that eat away at your garden. Likewise, soils microorganisms are required to keep soils healthy and soft. Water is sprinkled over the soils to keep the soil moist, and harmful chemicals can harden soil; making it unproductive. Oxygen is required to keep plants and soil alive and natural organic fertilizers help root those natural necessities. In fact, natural organic fertilizers is said to supply 70% of the vital nutrients and minerals to lawns, soil, gardens, and landscapes making them grow strong. At the same time the fertilizer is enhancing your beautiful garden, lawn and landscape, it is terminating those unwanted rodents. Most people add plant life to their home environment. When they use fabricated fertilizers, not only are the plants inhaling this chemical, but also so are your children, you and your pets. The action can cause allergies, flues and other health conditions to increase. To avoid this unhealthy way of living you want to consider organize fertilizers. Organic fertilizers will improve plant life, your life, your children’s life, and your pets’ life simultaneously. #1 Natural Beauty specializes in organic products offering organic soap and organic oil. Relationship Advice: How to Ignore Your Spouse or Partner

By Jeff Herring Marriage can be one of the quickest and most effective paths to taking someone special for granted. We don’t mean to do it. It just sort of creeps up on us before we know it. All of a sudden we are treating someone who should be cherished in some pretty shabby ways. So let’s look at a few ways we take our spouses for granted, and then look at some tips for cherishing the person we married. How to Ignore Your Spouse Believe that marriage seals the contract, end of transaction and the work is over. Stop doing all the things you did to court and win your partner. Stop seeing your partner for who she/he really is. Stop seeing your partner at all. See your partner as the enemy, someone who is in your way. Fail to learn from experience. Believe that you deserve to be loved just by showing up. Behave in ways that demonstrate you know nothing about the person you married, or you don’t care about what you know. If you see yourself in any of the examples above, you’re not alone. This goes on more often than you might think. The good news is you recognize it. How to Cherish Your Spouse See her/him, really see her/him. Don’t just remember and celebrate your anniversary each year. Celebrate each month on the date of your wedding. Be creative. While it’s good to keep doing the things you did when you were dating, it’s not enough. Get creative and keep improving on the good things you have done. Know your spouse. Do a “study” on him/her. And then use what you learn. Listen to your partner’s dreams. Make special time each day for your partner. We make time in our day for so many trivial things. Why not make time for the very important people? If you are out of town, connect by phone or e-mail, and/or leave a note she/he will find while you’re gone. Don’t just cherish your partner, but cherish your partner’s parents as well. If for no other reason, for bringing your spouse into the world. You may have your differences with them, but honoring them honors your spouse. Make memories. Ask your spouse what a perfect day would look like, and then create as much of it as you can. Get a sheet of paper and list what your partner does that makes you happy and his/her qualities you most admire. Then give your partner the list. Develop a mindset and a heartset that searches for daily opportunities to show how much you cherish your spouse. When you step back and look at the differences between the above two categories, it really is much easier to cherish than it is to take for granted. It also makes life a whole lot better for both of you. Visit SecretsofGreatRelationships.com for tips and tools for creating and growing a great relationship. A Constipation Remedy Using Potassium and Prunes

By Rudy Silva Potassium and prunes are a natural constipation remedy that you can quickly use to help you get constipation relief. Potassium is needed in your colon walls to insure that peristaltic action occurs. Without potassium, colon walls are weak and unable to respond and contract properly when fecal matter needs to be move. Potassium in your colon wall tissues brings in more oxygen, which is required for good cell function and elimination of toxins. In addition, potassium creates an alkaline environment inside and outside the cell, which help protect cell walls from bacteria, fungus, and other pathogens. Potassium is a powerful source when it comes to cleaning, feeding and building your colon walls. Removing the thin layer of buildup harden mucus, dried fecal matter, waste derby, heavy metals - against your colon wall can be accomplished by eating those foods that are high in potassium. Excess buildup on your colon walls of fecal matter and toxins is a cause of continual constipation. This build up prevents your colon walls from functioning properly. Potassium is necessary for reducing anxiety and depression. These conditions can affect peristaltic movements of your colon. Lack of it causes muscles and organs to sag and lack tone. Potassium, also, draws water out of the body. So when potassium is in your colon it attracts water and pulls it into the fecal matter. This makes your fecal matter softer and easier to move along the colon. To get more potassium into your diet make a constipation remedy drink by, Pouring hot water over dried prunes and waiting 10 minutes. Then eat the prunes and drink the juice Do this on an empty stomach in the morning. The high concentration of potassium and vitamin A, in prunes, stimulates enzymatic processes. These processes melt down fecal wall wastes and dissolve blockages. They also activate peristaltic action to move this waste out through your rectum. The foods to eat that are high in potassium are: Kale, cabbage, yellow tomatoes, spinach, carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, cauliflower, alfalfa sprouts, goat milk, sesame seeds, wheat germ brewers yeast, flax seed, grapes, green peppers, pineapple, beets, potatoes with skin Blackstrap molasses If you have any kidney disease, do not take potassium supplements unless directed by your doctor. If you are pregnant, take potassium only under a doctors direction. If you are on any type of drugs, do not take potassium unless directed by your doctor. When you have constipation it is best to take potassium supplement. Once you have your constipation eliminated back off on the potassium you are taking and depend on your potassium dose from the foods you eat. My recommended Potassium dose is 1000 3000 mg each day taken with meals. Rudy Silva has a degree in Physics and is a Natural Nutritionist. Discover How You Can Create More Prospects For Your Business In The Next 30 Day Period!

By Briman P Gray In this article, I’ll be talking about some strategies that will allow you to get a surge of prospects to your company in as little as 30-60 days, and you’ll be amazed at how little effort it really takes! Why spend years trying to do it yourself when you can leverage the important concepts in this article, and jump start your efforts so that you’ll be miles ahead of the game had you began by yourself. Many people falsely believe that you need your own office to have a successful company. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The truth is, if you are just starting a business, you should begin it at your home if possible, then after it gets successful, consider upgrading to an office if you need more space. But you should be prepared. I’m going to be discussing the use of Online Marketing as a means of bringing in more company, and because of the power of the Internet, big things can happen very quickly! Because of the power of internet marketing, it allows you to take yesterday’s idea, and implement it today to see if its a winner or not! It’s much more difficult, if not impossible, to accomplish the same testing in other vehicles, such as newspaper or direct mail. Don’t get me wrong - I’m not down on these other traditional media types, I’m just familiar with getting my results quicker now that I’ve been working on the internet so long. The truth is, you’d be foolish if you didn’t utilize them. But be careful, because the fact is, most people fail miserably at their advertising attempts using newspaper and direct mail, because they don’t know how to write effective ads. Some of what I’ll be discussing here goes against conventional wisdom and thinking. You just have to turn off your brain’s “No” feature, and continue to have an open mind. And if you use these techniques, you’ll be miles ahead of your competitors!. A business is only a business if it has both a Product and Marketing. Without one, the other is lost. And if one is good and the other is bad, it depends on which of the two is bad to really control if the company is going to succeed or not. Later, I’ll discuss why. Do you know which one is more significant? Most people answered Product, and if you did, sorry, you’d be mistaken! And here’s why. Let assume that you were selling gold jewelry for $29.95 on your front lawn, but you didn’t publicize it. How many people would actually come? Probably not a whole lot! Does it matter that you have the most unbelievable sale on the planet? Nope! And if you look at it the other way, you could be selling the poorest quality goods in the world, but if your marketing is first-class, you will still get sales. Of course you may have to worry about high refund rates, but that’s another story. You need to start changing your beliefs on the true function of your company. You really aren’t in the business of selling your product or service. Your true business is marketing your product or services so that you can spawn sales. If you own a handyman business, don’t think of your company as selling handyman services. You must now believe that your company is marketing your handyman services. Your goal is to become an expert at marketing. In the next series of this is article I will discuss the 2 main categories of advertising: Image Advertising and Direct Response Advertising Brian Gray is a small business consultant and specializes in teaching business owners about customer lead generation. Various business owners have used these techniques to generate traffic to their business, such as various such as mlm mailing lists, mailing list leads and sales lead lists. Find out how you can generate more leads to your business in the next 30-60 days, even more than you had all last year. Ethics of Beliefs

By Kelly Lopez Criticism of Pascals Wager Pascals wager is an application of decision theory to prove that it is always better to believe in god than not believing in god. He argued that it is always beneficial to believe in God, because the expected value to be gained from believing in will always be greater than the expected value derived from non-belief. Holistically it wasnt an argument for existence of god but a mere emphasis that as per decision theory, taking a decision of believing in god is always more fruitful than otherwise. The wager is primarily based on two assumptions one it is based on that god rewards or punishes as described in Christian theology and secondly god doesnt exist. The wager does not take into account the possibility of god started behaving differently than what it is mentioned in bible, what if he starts rewarding skepticism and punishing dogmatism, or rewarding honest reasoning and punishing feigned faith, or what if he does not punish belief or disbelief at all. Secondly if there is more than one god like in case of Hinduism, then the wager doesnt hold good as one doesnt know which god will reward and which one will punish. Or taking it even on other extreme that only the non Christian gods exist and they punish the Christians for following the belief. The wager also failed to mention any financial cost relating to beliefs. Today when most of the religious practices are somehow associated with donation and money spending activities, financial consideration is quite crucial in deciding for belief. In fact most of the missionary money in late nineteen century and mid twentieth century is spent on making people follow Christianity in vast areas of Africa and Asia. Permissibility of following beliefs In his essay The ethics of belief, W.K.Clifford wants us to believe that forming our beliefs is the correct way is a matter of true ethical importance. Clifford argument were that all beliefs influence action in one way or another and actions which are based on unjustified beliefs either cause harm directly or will promote credulity leading to broader social ills so therefore it is always wrong to hold unjustified beliefs. If we look broadly both of his premises are questionable first objection is not with evidence but with the falsity of beliefs and secondly his entire examples involve beliefs that have consequences for welfare of others. To counter his stand he made no differentiation between action which is intrinsically wrong rather than instrumentally wrong. Instrumental actions are not wrong in themselves but they do cause harm. So if unsupported belief is intrinsically wrong then it is clear that it will always be wrong and if they will always be wrong then it cant be believed without sufficient evidence and thus raises the questions over permissibility of complete faith. Problem of Evil We all believe god is omnipotent and omnipresent, and then the question is why evil happens in our world. If the ontological argument of god is true then we all have justifying reasons for beliefs in gods existence. But here lies a contradiction the problem of evil. 1. If god exists then shed be omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent this is believers beliefs. 2. If god is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent then there is no evil. Taking both in same context, if god exists then there is no evil. But as we all know there is evil so does it prove that god doesnt exist. This is the problem of evil for theism, unless there is a way around it should provide theists to give up their beliefs based on pain of irrationality. Few arguments do come up to find solution of this problem but they fall short on proving the base hypothesis of omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent god. A) Evil is essential as a counterpart to good as there cant be no good without some evil this raises the questions on gods powers so he/ she is not perfect as theist assume it to be. Secondly if we only need a little bit of evil to contrast to good then why are horrors like tsunami in East Asia in 2004? B) Evil is not due to god but to human free will then the question arises why god provided us with free will when so much misery results. Secondly lots of evil arent related to free will at all like earthquakes etc. so why do they occur if god is good and he protects innocents. Thirdly why not god just give all of us excellent characters so that we all can choose the best possible way for betterment of society on a whole. If we take this argument to the extreme than free will in long run will result in gods action depends upon us than vice versa as theist want us to believe. So free will is incompatible with gods omnipotence and omniscient. Pediatric Emergency Contact Notifications Made Easier

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Laura_Greenwald] Laura Greenwald For the head of the trauma department at one of Americas top pediatric facilities, Chicagos Childrens Memorial Hospital, having to notifying parents that their children have been the victims of trauma or identify pediatric Jane Does, is an every day occurrence. But just because they look like theyre handling it well, doesnt mean that it ever becomes routine. When a child comes into the ED without a parent, its usually the result of an accident or traumatic event. Even though their first priority is to tend to the childs medical needs, their next priority is to identify the child. They need to get his parents or guardian down to the hospital, to give consent for his treatment, provide vital medical history and most importantly, to be at their childs side when he needs them most. Youd be surprised how often a child is brought into Childrens Memorial without anything pointing to his or her identity. Many times its the result of a car accident, where the parents are injured as well as the child, and are taken to another hospital, while the child is brought to Childrens for specialized pediatric treatment. Since children dont have drivers licenses or checkbooks, identifying a child can be challenging. Just the other day, three children ranging from 8 months to 3 years were brought into the ED after a serious automobile accident. Their parents, who were in bad shape, were taken to another hospital and the paramedics had no clue about their names, ages or medical history. The trauma team began their medical evaluation and as they always do when dealing with an unidentified child, opened a trauma pack for each, using a patient number to identify them. We estimated their ages, did a full physical description including any identifying marks and clothing, then ordered a full set of x-rays, which helps to identify any conditions or injuries that arent readily apparent. The teams biggest asset in this situation was the solid relationships that theyve built with police, fire department, and other local hospitals as they work together to get the children identified as quickly as possible. After a major accident like this, the police and fire department were already in the ED coordinating efforts. With their special emergency landline system theyre instantly linked by phone with any local hospital they need to reach. As the team began calling to find out where the childrens parents were taken, hospitals began to call them, to say, I know youre looking for the mom and dad of the accident victims. Theyre not here, saving them precious time. In this case, we found the hospital relatively quickly and found out that even though the childrens parents had been seriously injured, the childrens caregiver who had also been in the accident, was fine. The hospital sent her over to Childrens and she and later on the parents were able to give them all the information theyneeded to identify and treat the children. In the case of a completely unidentified child, especially babies, they depend on our procedures. Usually the fire department, police or DCFS dropped the child off, so they are already aware of the situation and have already begun going through the childs clothing and personal effects to gather evidence and identify the child. The trauma team will send the police or paramedics right back to the scene to gather additional information, medicine bottles, names, and to canvass the area. There is almost always someone who saw something. Someone from pastoral care automatically comes down and a social worker will get involved if it looks like any abuse was involved. Together, they take care of figuring out where to go from here, while the team takes care of the child medically. If these steps dont elicit any clues to the childs identity, the hospital will get media affairs involved. Childrens will never show the face or reveal the name of any child. Instead, they photograph the childs clothing and personal effects and release it to the media along with the childs estimated age, description and the vicinity in which she was found. They work closely with detectives and DCFS to give them all the details they need to chase down any leads they get from the public. Many times just calling DCFS or the police will locate parents or bring about an identification. In the case of severe trauma, abuse or inflicted injury, Childrens always balances treating the child, with carefully gathering as much evidence as possible, to help the eventual police investigation. They had a young girl a few years ago, whose brutal attacker was convicted mainly on the evidence gathered and catalogued in the trauma room. When it comes to providing emergency contact information, kids arent always the best source. They have seven or eight year old kids come in everyday, who Im sure are sophisticated in every other way. But get them in a trauma situation and ask them what their moms name is and theyll say its mom. In this case, the first thing theyll do is look at whatever they brought in with them. School-age kids almost always have a backpack. If they dont find anything there, theyll check our records to see if the child is in the system and begin to gently probe the child for information. They ask them where their house is, what their school looks like, information about their friends houses, maybe a familiar landmark on the corner like a 7/11 or the name of a park. If you cant find their contact information right away, try to find the name of their school. Their books will probably have the name of their school stamped inside. Schools are also a great source for emergency contact information. Theyll often even list alternate people to call in an emergency if the parents are at work or hard to reach. In an emergency, schools will usually send someone directly down to the hospital with the childs emergency card and emergency consent forms. If the injury occurs at school, most schools will send someone from the school along with the child to the hospital, while someone else is calling the parent. For parents, I would suggest that every parent name someone else on the childs emergency card, who knows the child well and would be able to step in to help out during an emergency if the parents cant get there right away. So once you identify a child, how do you know if the person who comes to the hospital is really his parent or relative? Its not always easy. Remember that the parents didnt expect to have to come to the hospital today, and probably wont be carrying three forms of ID and their childs birth certificate. For people that come in and say theyre related to a child whos been in the media, they get as much ID as they can, be it a drivers license, pictures or other proof. With kids, the biggest test is to watch their response when that person goes in the room. Usually youll here a resounding Mom! or Daddy! and you know youve got the right person. If theres no response from the kid, or if theyre not sure of the adult, its probably not the right person. Or worse, the child might recoil from the adult, which could indicate an abusive situation. Treating kids also means caring for their parents. When Childrens has to make a notification call theyll begin by telling the person on the phone who they are and ask them how they are related to the child. If its the mom or dad, theyll tell them that their child has been brought to Childrens Memorial Hospital. Of course the parent will immediately ask how the child is. This is always the hardest part of the call. If the child is clearly fine, theyll say Dont worry, theyre fine, we just need you to come down here. But if there is a more serious injury, or if the child hasnt survived, they say that the child has been in an accident, that they need to come down, and if necessary, that they need to get their medical history. If they refuse to get off the phone until they find out whats wrong, the trauma coordinator will say that theyre very concerned about their childs health and that they need to come down right away. Theyll always try to calm the person down as much as they can tell them to go and get a pencil and paper to take down the address of the hospital, to take down the hospitals name and theyre direct number. They tell them to ask for them right away when they get here so they dont have to waste any time at the desk and then try to make sure they have someone to drive them over. And they finish by reminding them that they need to drive carefully and slowly and to make sure that they get there in one piece! At Childrens the top priority is the restoration of the health of every child who comes through our door, no matter who they are and where they come from. Marketing - It’s Not a Department!

By Dianne Perrett Why is it that most companies really only think about marketing when their backs are against the wall? Driven by declining sales or slow growth, changing patterns in their (or their customers) buying behaviours and /or increasing competition, suddenly the penny drops! Marketing oh yes maybe I should try that! I know we all mean well but as human beings we are not good at consistently driving for stretch or continuous improvement. We all know what we should have been doing but somehow there just wasnt enough time in the day. And the days turned into weeks, which somehow, turned into months! Marketing is not a department within the business and, I believe, it is also not so much about what we do as it is about how we consistently do it! Ive come to the conclusion that the old adage a rolling stone gathers no moss is as true in business as it is in life generally. Somewhere in our genetic make-up we are all pre-programmed to strive for that day when we can pull back and relax having made it. There are many examples we can find by looking around us of companies which, having thought they had made it, suddenly have been thrown into hot water through changing markets, changing economic scenarios and changing business structures. These are all marketing issues that need to be constantly monitored. What can we do to ensure that in the good times we are using our energy to prepare for the rocky road that is sure to be just over the horizon? And, for those of you who are currently within the mounting storm, what can you do to minimize your risk? I think there are a few fundamental blocks that need to be core to any organization: 1. If you are the captain (of the company, the dept or the team) you must be up on the bridge and not constantly in the engine room. If you are down shoveling the coal you cannot be checking for the icebergs! 2. Open your mind! It is not their problem, your future is not in their hands and it is not their fault! Start by looking inward in order to ensure your personal marketing is in order! 3. Create time to check for operational excellence. No amount of marketing can cover for poor products/services, slow turnaround time, procrastination, inefficiency or lack of care by the service delivery team. 4. Surround yourself with people who love challenge, push the limits and think outside the box. They are few and far between and, when you find one, ensure you really look after them. If your organization doesnt have them internally, make sure you are networking with people who will play devils advocate and challenge your thinking. These people should be helping you scan the radar from a holistic market perspective to establish where to next - constantly pushing for stretch. As mentioned earlier Marketing is not a department and its definitely not advertising! Its about challenging the status quo, checking the perceptions and needs of the customers constantly and working with the management team to adjust as necessary to build towards the ultimate business objective sustainability! If your stones not rolling its gathering moss and the moss creates drag, clouds vision and stifles action things we have all experienced to a greater or lesser extent at some time. Give your stone a kick and get it rolling today then youll really have something worth marketing! Happy Marketing!
